One continuous surface mixed beside the job and laid straight onto your slab.
Two layers do two different jobs. The base is rubber granule mixed with binder in a paddle mixer beside the job, spread over a primed slab and troweled down while it is still live. That layer takes the impact. The wear layer goes on the same day, coloured granule bound in clear resin, closed off by hand so the finish reads even from edge to edge. Because both layers go down wet they knit into each other. There is no adhesive, no tape and no cut line anywhere in the field. Around drains, posts and pool coping the material is worked in tight to the detail, so water leaves the deck instead of finding a lip to sit behind.

Our weather does the testing for us. An afternoon storm empties itself in minutes. A porous poured build lets that water pass down through the surface and away on the fall the slab already has, so you do not get standing puddles or the green slick that grows in them. The texture stays honest when it is wet, which matters most at a pool edge where people walk barefoot and in a hurry. Chlorine, salt spray and sunscreen all land on it and rinse off with a hose. Sun is the harder test, and this is where the build earns its money. Colour lives inside the granule, not in a paint film, so scuffs and washing do not take it off.

There is no single correct depth. Under climbing equipment the depth is set by how far a child can fall from the highest part they can stand on, so the pour gets thicker as the equipment gets taller. A walkway, a lanai or a dog run needs none of that and paying for it is money burnt. A court sits in between and is chosen around how hard it gets used rather than how it looks. We check finished depth with a gauge while the crew is still on site, not after everyone has gone home. The number we measure is the number on your quote. If the slab dips somewhere, we say so before the mixer starts.

2Pick the blend and the depth. We repair the base so it holds.
3Poured, cured and walkable in 24 to 48 hours.
Walkable after 24 to 48 hours of curing, and most jobs are 1 to 3 days on site before that clock starts. Heat speeds it up and a wet week slows it down. We tell you at the measurement which day you get your yard back, and we do not hand over a surface that is still soft under a thumb.
Usually yes. A sound slab is the cheapest base you will ever own, so we would rather repair it than remove it. Cracks get treated, low spots get filled and the whole surface gets primed so the rubber bonds instead of sitting loose on top. If the slab is broken up or still moving, we say that at the free measurement rather than pour over trouble.
The colour sits inside the rubber granule, not in a coating, so it cannot wash off or scrub off. Any surface taking this much sun shifts a little over years, and darker blends move less than very pale ones. We put samples down outdoors at the measurement, in your own daylight, so what you pick is what you will be looking at in August.
Installed work starts at 8 dollars per sq ft. Base prep, crack treatment, priming, the pour and the finish all sit inside that number. You get a fixed written price after the free measurement, which we book within 24 hours, and the quote you sign is the invoice you pay. A 2 year workmanship warranty is written into the contract before you pay anything.
